Quoting

Please do credit the site and the individual user that you quote, if taking any content from the site forums or blogs. The user owns the content of his posts, not the site. Content posted in the Wikis, the 'ARRSEPedia' / 'RRPedia', is almost anonymous so quoting a user is not necessary or possible.

To discuss media matters with us please contact our media manager using any of the following methods:

Active Use of the Forums.

Members of the press are welcome to actively use our sites, although we ask you to stick to the following guidelines for media use:

  • We have no objection to anyone posting and asking for opinions in open forum, whether as a media or private user. Be warned though that some of the more idiotic members find nothing funnier than baiting journalists.
  • ** Most importantly ** please don't ask in open forum for serving personnel to contact you, although it is perfectly acceptable to place contact details in your user profile.
  • If you decide to send private messages (PMs - the site user-to-user messaging system) to members as a result of answers on the forum, please make it clear that they may be breaking DIN003-06 in discussing service matters with you.

Comment on Military Issues

The Soldier's View

The Army Rumour Service and Navy Net management teams can provide comment on current defence issues based on discussion of site content and / or personal views. If members of the media would like "the soldiers' / sailors' view" please contact PR_Totty (above) and we would be pleased to help.

Comment by the British Armed Forces Federation, BAFF.

Both the Army Rumour Service and the Navy Net (Rum Ration) are closely linked to BAFF, the British Armed Forces Federation. The Army Rumour Service played a fundamental role in BAFF's formation and the Navy Net hosts the BAFF private forum. For high-level unofficial comment on military issues we recommend contacting BAFF.
