Olive Net and E-Commerce

Olive Net have been developing and running the RVOps online shop since 2006 and taken it through three major versions, two different programming languages and about 150% growth. Acting as web developers, marketeers (via our own websites) and advisors, we have a deep knowledge of e-commerce and of our chosen e-commerce system, zen-cart.

Before joining Olive Net our lead web developer spent five years on the e-commerce development team of a large multi-national company, so our experience spans from the all-important minutiae of day-to-day business to large scale software development.

Case Study - RVOps Online Shop

Background

RVOps was a specialist retailer with 3 outlets who had started an online shop with simple e-commerce software from a budget provider. The software worked, but had limited features and flexibility, looked amateurish and was clumsy to use.

To take RVOps forward we started with a leading e-commerce system, Zen Cart and modified it extensively to produce an attractive, highly sophisticated and well designed e-commerce solution with almost unlimited room for growth. The RVOps online shop is simply unmatched among its competitors.

Our Work

RVOps' shop has a long list of enhancements to an already excellent base system, many of which would normally be considered beyond the reach of smaller retailers. Among many others these have included the integration of a sophisticated mailing list / newsletter system, advanced search engine optimization (SEO), back-end bar code stock control, a customer feedback publishing system and the automatic export of shop products to external sales systems such as Google Base.

The Results?

We are not conceited enough to take all the credit ourselves, but since Olive Net produced the new RVOps site (and marketed it via our network of sites) RVOps' online income has more than doubled.
