Olive Net Ltd is an Exeter based web development agency and community website owner. The company started in 2002 with the creation of the Army Rumour Service website and today consists of six military community oriented websites, three directors, PR manager, admin staff and a network of overseas contractors.
Olive Net began providing web development services to external clients in 2008 and has since completed projects for a range of clients including one of Germany's largest publishing houses, Burda Media.
We are a small company with large experience and qualifications. All three directors hold masters degrees in IT disciplines, with first degrees in Media and Electronic Engineering. Combined with 19 years of combined web development experience, we can offer a very high level of service in a wide range of fields.
In 2002 two of the Olive Net directors started The Army Rumour Service, or more commonly 'ARRSE'. In 2003 a limited company was formed to handle the now large and near exponentially growing site. A few years later the Navy Net was born and the Rear Party families' community quickly followed.
By 2007 the Olive Net sites were regularly featured in the national media, raising large amounts for charity, had helped form the British Armed Forces Federation, were regularly mentioned in both houses of Parliament and become without doubt THE voice of the British military online.
In 2008 a dating service, Olive Dating, was added to the network and in 2009 a new job advertising service was born; Olive Jobs. Olive Net also started taking on external web development contracts.
